Derek Botes had a heart transplant in 2018 and was invited to participate in the National Transplant Games in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in July 2022.
He subsequently qualified to represent South Africa (golf) in Perth, Australia from 15 – 21 April 2023.

SATSA, SASCOC, and NTG aims to assist athletes with costs, but it’s primarily the participant’s responsibility to raise the funds needed to travel to Perth.
Derek therefore kindly requests assistance in raising funds towards his opportunity to represent South Africa and George Golf Club at the World Transplant Games in Perth.

Donations of ANY amount (from as little as R50) can be made to the bank account listed below.
Please note that all sponsoring deposits will cease once the required amount has been reached.
A full audit will be done and be available for review.
Any excess funds will be donated to SATSA to assist other athletes.

The costs involved to travel to Australia – (Target Amount) amounts to R57,000 per person which includes accommodation, practice rounds, participating and transport
